What does MIDAS do for a wood and furniture factory?

A CNC line, a wide-belt sander, and a finishing booth are the most expensive things in a wood factory, and for most of the day they sit still. The difference on a wood floor is timing. Reject rates, a machine starved of parts, and a finish batch drifting out of spec are all knowable during the shift, but they usually arrive as a report after the ship date is already at risk. MIDAS puts them in front of the person who owns the line while the shift can still be corrected.

Does MIDAS replace our ERP or line system?
No. Your systems keep doing what they do — work orders, nesting files, QC records, inventory. MIDAS connects them into one operating picture and adds what none of them holds on its own: who owns the slip, what it costs, and what needs to happen before the ship date is at risk.
Which wood operations can a robot take?
Machine tending first — loading and unloading the CNC, the sander, and the edgebander — then finishing and palletizing. These are the stations that repeat one motion hundreds of times a shift on rigid material a gripper can hold. We choose them from the floor data Production Intelligence has already collected, not from a brochure, so the first robots land where the cycle is most predictable.
Why is wood a better robot fit than garment or food?
Because of the material. Board, panel, and solid timber are rigid and can be fixtured, so a robot knows exactly where the part is — unlike limp fabric in a sewing line. And unlike a wet processing line, a wood floor has no sanitation window that owns the night. Unattended machine tending on rigid parts is settled equipment, not an experiment.
Is the floor signal used to monitor workers?
No. Signal is for coaching, fair allocation, quality, and output. The system flags what needs attention; supervisors and operators decide what to do.
Do I need MIDAS before the robots?
Yes, in practice. A robot needs to be told which station to own and what good output looks like, and that comes from floor data. We instrument the floor first, find the station everything waits on, then put the robot where the measurement says it pays.
